What affects the cost of jewellery photography

No two shot lists are the same, so pricing isn't one-size-fits-all. These are the main factors we take into account when putting together your quote.

Number of pieces

The size of your shot list is the biggest factor. Larger ranges spread set-up and colour-calibration time across more images, which typically lowers the average cost per piece.

Retouching depth

Focus stacking and colour correction are included as standard on every image. More involved retouching - such as removing prongs, polishing marks or complex dust removal - is factored into the quote.

Styling & composition

A plain-background packshot takes less time than a styled hero shot built around props, composition and mood. This is the main difference between our three pricing tiers.

Turnaround time

Standard 5-7 working-day turnaround is included in our pricing. Same-day or rush delivery is available for urgent projects and is confirmed upfront at the quote stage.

Format & channel

Let us know where your images are going - your own site, Amazon, Etsy, Shopify or ad campaigns - and we'll match the file formats, dimensions and crops you need at no extra cost.

Add-on services

360° spins, product video and on-model photography are priced separately from stills photography and quoted based on your specific requirements.

Beyond stills: 360°, video & model photography

These are priced separately from standard photography and quoted around your shoot - book them alongside a photography session or on their own.

Jewellery photography pricing questions, answered

Everything jewellers and online retailers ask us about cost, quotes and what's included before booking a shoot.

How much does jewellery photography cost in the UK?

UK jewellery photography typically costs between £15 and £50+ per image, depending on style and complexity. At M.O. Studios, standard packshots start from £15 per image, styled product shots from £40, and premium editorial photography is £50+. There are no hidden costs - get in touch with your product range for a free, tailored quote.

What's included in the price as standard?

Every image we deliver, at every price point, includes focus stacking for edge-to-edge sharpness, colour-calibrated lighting and white balance so metals and gemstones read true to life, and advanced retouching. These aren't premium add-ons that others charge extra for - they're simply how every shoot starts at M.O. Studios.

What affects the price of jewellery photography?

The main factors are the number of pieces on your shot list, the level of retouching and colour correction required, whether shots are simple packshots or styled with props and composition, your turnaround time (standard or rush), and any add-on services such as 360° spins, video or model photography. We confirm exact pricing at the quote stage once we understand your shot list.

Is there a minimum order for jewellery photography?

No - there's no fixed minimum order. Pricing is per image from £15, so you can book anything from a handful of pieces to a full catalogue. As a general rule, the larger your shot list, the lower your average cost per image tends to be, since set-up and colour-calibration time is spread across more pieces.

What's the difference in price between a standard packshot, a styled shot and premium editorial photography?

Standard packshots (from £15 per image) are clean, focus-stacked, colour-accurate images on a plain background, ideal for catalogue and marketplace listings. Styled product shots (from £40) add considered composition and props to lift hero or lifestyle images. Premium editorial photography (£50+) is full campaign-level imagery for flagship products, launches and brand storytelling.

Do you charge extra for focus stacking or colour correction?

No. Focus stacking and colour-calibrated white balance are standard on every image we deliver, at every price point - not optional upgrades. This is one of the main differences between M.O. Studios' pricing and studios that reserve these techniques for a premium tier. Read our full guide to focus stacking →

How much do add-ons like 360° spins, product video or model shots cost?

360° product spins, product video and on-model or lifestyle photography are priced separately from standard photography, based on the scope of your shoot. These can be booked alongside a photography session or on their own - let us know what you need and we'll include them in your tailored quote.

Do you offer discounts for bulk or catalogue jewellery photography?

There's no fixed volume discount table, but larger product ranges typically cost less per image, since set-up, lighting and colour-calibration time is spread across more pieces. Send us your full product range and shot list and we'll put together an itemised, tailored quote.

How does turnaround time affect the price?

Our standard turnaround is 5-7 working days and is included in our pricing. Rush turnarounds of 1-3 days, including same-day options, are available for urgent projects and may carry a premium depending on the size of your shot list - this is confirmed upfront at the quote stage, never as a surprise on delivery.

Can I try M.O. Studios before committing to full pricing?

Yes - we offer a free test shoot with no obligation, so you can see our lighting, colour accuracy and retouching quality on your own products before booking a full shoot. Book via our contact form or by calling 0333 012 4257.
